fitzeprint upvoted Re: Domain expired. 12 hours out of service

If Google noticed the content will be pushed down. It will not completely disappear though. Once everything is fixed, resubmit your sitemap and request a full index. They will start moving up again once Google is aware everything is working properly again. Google luck.

fitzeprint upvoted Re: Domain expired. 12 hours out of service

So, how about now? Do you have any stats? Would be interesting to see how it affected your site rankings, but my guess is, that few hours outage doesn't have too much impact on it. Chances are Google hasn't even found out.

But really, who knows?

Domain expired. 12 hours out of service

fitzeprint upvoted Domain expired. 12 hours out of service

Hello guys, my domain expired and I didn't know about it. It took my like 10-12 hours to fix it. During that time, my site was down. Is it possible that my site has been penalized or at least down ranked due to domain expiry? It happened recently - yesterday, so I have no stats from search console yet.

Re: blog traffic and adsense issue

fitzeprint upvoted Re: blog traffic and adsense issue

That's weird, because organic is high quality traffic source and it converts well. But you might be spot on actually. The amount of ad units could be the reason for some issues. I just don't think they would mark it invalid traffic.

There are guidelines for Google ad network, so I'd definitely suggest checking that document out and reading through it. It will save you potential headaches (Adsense ban etc.).

Approx 50-60 % traffic is organic. Other traffic is 0 and rest from social/referal etc. These are the stats from google analytics. One experts says you are using more than 3 ads this is the reason. So i have also change the design of blog and now traffic reduce to 50-60 %. Please sugest some progressive. Its really very frustrating for me. Not able to earn good amount from adsense

What is your most significant source of traffic? Can you specify amount of traffic your site is receiving?

Re: blog traffic and adsense issue

No, i am not using any traffic generation service.

Re: blog traffic and adsense issue

fitzeprint upvoted Re: blog traffic and adsense issue

Are you using any traffic generation services? If your traffic is auto generated by bots (high bounce rate, low time spent on site, zero interactions, etc.) there is not a good signal and you should take some steps to make sure your Adsense account is not going to be banned.

Post your robots.txt and exact URLs you're getting errors for in your Search Console. Can't really tell without knowing your robots file.

Robots.txt and Sitemap Error

fitzeprint upvoted Robots.txt and Sitemap Error

Google Search Console is indicating that my has been blocked by robots.txt file. While testing it, through the robots.text testing tool it says ALLOWED.

Wondering why Google mentioned the sitemap contains URLs which are blocked by robots.txt. How to resolve this issue?

I think this is good question even for those who are more experienced. We all know what worked in 2010, 2015, etc. But what are your most recent recommendations?

From what I see, backlinks still do their work. PR, social media mentions, google for business. It all works - at least for us. If we add good navigation structure, HTTPS, mobile friendly design, that's good enough to bring pages up for most keywords in general. However, when it comes to more competitive keywords, you need something more to get on the first page.

Share what works for you.

Re: Which service is the best value for the money? Ahrefs vs. Majestic vs. SEMRush

fitzeprint upvoted Re: Which service is the best value for the money? Ahrefs vs. Majestic vs. SEMRush

None of those are needed unless you are providing SEO consulting services. They do not actually benefit you as a site owner. It is easy to get caught up with cool tools and products but your focus should be placed firmly on creating quality content. You should also focus on building a website that is easy to use and navigate. Focusing on anything but the user indicates that you are looking to make a quick buck without actually earning it. Build with purpose and you will rank. The rest is just noise in terms of sustainability and profitability.

Which service is the best value for the money? Ahrefs vs. Majestic vs. SEMRush

fitzeprint upvoted Which service is the best value for the money? Ahrefs vs. Majestic vs. SEMRush

I am sure you know all of them. I guess some of you even use all of them. I just can't justify subscription price of all combined, so I'll have to choose one to go with for my projects.

Ahrefs looks pretty useful, a lot of data to dig through, but the price is $179/mo which is a LOT.

Majestic is imo even better, because of topical trust flow metric, which seems to be incredibly useful for analysing competitors and their backlink profiles. Pricing feels affordable compared to Ahrefs ($83.33/mo)

SEMRush probably the most useful tool for analysing competitors, backlink profiles etc, but I am not sure here which plan would be the best fit. Do I need historical data? I guess not necessarily. So the price would be either $99.95/mo for Pro or $199.95/mo for Guru, which is extended membership level with historical data, higher limits and branded reports (I don't think I'd need any of Guru's features).

What would you choose as a most effective tool for SEO in general, if you had to pick one?

Thanks!!

Google increased length of snippets

fitzeprint upvoted Google increased length of snippets

So, what do you think about longer snippets in search results? I think it's pretty good and this change could improve CTR. Not dramatically, but definitely in a positive way - for good content and useful sites in general.

Do you see any CTR growth lately?

Re: Google increased length of snippets

fitzeprint upvoted Re: Google increased length of snippets

I don't see any changes yet. The numbers are about the same, including CTR. Maybe it needs some more time.

Re: Google increased length of snippets

fitzeprint upvoted Re: Google increased length of snippets

I would bet longer snippets is actually an indicator of diminishing the number of links per page. I imagine they will continue working to drive down the number of sites on the 1st page as low as they can without detracting from the search experience or lowering ad revenue. In fact, removing organic results will likely increase ad clicks thereby increasing their revenue. I would imagine domain names will eventually be removed too and replaced with some type of related brand name. I would expect the search results to more closely resemble an app store styled page focusing on the reputation of the author and the quality of the content.

Website not ranking in google...

fitzeprint upvoted Website not ranking in google...

I've recently developed a website, it's ranking fine in other search engines such as Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo. But in Google it can't be found. I'm no SEO expert but there's no obvious warnings in Google Analytics or Google Search Console.

The website is www.ambulo.me. Can someone have a look and see what I'm doing wrong?
