Non-user friendly product urls
Hi Guys,
I am working on a B2B product-based website and there are many products alias that is non-user-friendly. Because there are many URLs product-based. Now I am confused to change slug with keyword or not. Can anyone suggest to me which strategy will help me to get a user-friendly website?
1 single category/subcategory page opening with all types. With trailing slash, with HTML, and as well as without slash and HTML...
have you used ever UTM code for an SEO campaign?
Actually, Its some url open with .html/without html/ with slash & without slash. Is it good?
Keep your website consistent - either use .html
or not.
Trailing slash doesn't matter.
Thanks @ravi,
The same concern for a 1-year-old e-commerce site that is made on Magento.
Product URL path:
https://www.website.com/category/sub-category/starting-at-rs-999/highclass-women-shoe.html
I have to change it.

I am trying to keep a shorter product URL. Yes, the website is old, that's why I'm changing URLs 4-5 per day. Should I use the same tactics on the e-commerce website? Would you suggest another idea?
Thanks @jaap,
- Are the keywords included in the URL? Yes, Keyword included in the URL
- Do the most important search terms appear in the URL? Yes but, now im also using search intent(keyword)with product code.
- Can the URL be shorter? URLs are not shorter they are long.
- Are there other URLs that also have these search terms? Yes, High Competition keywords are used
- Don't do keyword stuffing I am using keywords in the title, description, web content, image alt tag, and slug.
- Is the URL clear? Yes
- Is the URL no more than 3 layers deep? Yes, there are 4-5 deep layer to reach product page.
You can change it but keep URL short with proper keywords. if the site is old then don't change it all in a single day. first, change some of pages url and see.
The navigation must have a clear structure. Look at the users and search intent and adjust your URL structure accordingly.
