What To Do With Two Business Having The Same Name?
Hello everyone,
Our client is currently facing a unique challenge as their business shares the same name with another company. Our client specializes in arts and crafts supplies, while the other business with a similar name deals with printer products. Consequently, our client is receiving customer queries and calls intended for the printer-related company.
Has anyone encountered a similar situation, and do you have any suggestions on how to address this issue?
Thank you!
Do more branding so that the printer related company starts receiving arts & crafts related customer's queries. Or tag the category with the brand name. For example, ABC Arts & Crafts and, let the other company use ABC Inc. name. This might bifurcate your client's company name. What do you think?
Do you have any other suggestions on how to address this issue?
Practically, there is no other option than part away from the name. Theoretically, you can claim that name also if you are older than them.
Just for an information, I had suffered with it and I found changing the way as the best solution of it.
When faced with two businesses sharing the same name, several steps can be taken to address the situation. Firstly, it's crucial to assess the impact on both businesses and their respective customer bases. Communication between the two businesses is key, as it allows for discussion on potential solutions, such as one business altering its name slightly to differentiate. If the situation escalates or legal concerns arise, seeking advice from legal professionals specializing in intellectual property can provide clarity on trademark rights and potential resolutions
