Users Spike in Analytics
Hi guys, I have a doubt about sudden users spike in google analytics..is it good or bad? if it is bad how I check this?
Well, and the source is?
There is a need to analyze the traffic data. Check if your website has started ranking with some high traffic volume keyword. If so, then protect the ranking and traffic with all your might. If it is a bot traffic then disallow such visits by using robots.txt file.
@ms I can't understand what source you are asking about?
@binayjha How I find it is bot traffic or not?
In Analytics check Acquisitions > Traffic Acquisition
Without understanding which channel is this traffic coming from, it will be blind guessing.
@ms the traffic came from Direct and organic search
@ms I'm still learning about SEO and Analytic, so please bear with me.. if my questions seem basic
@ms In Analytics -> Manual: Session manual source shows the traffic came from (not set)
At least it doesn't sound like a referral spam. Which would be good.
What's normal traffic and what's the peak in numbers?
@ms Normal traffic is between 10 to 25 and that one day traffic is 75.. (o that day same time 30 to 40 user counts shown)
That sounds reasonable. These numbers are very low, so 3x what you'd consider normal, is still OK, especially if that's still less than 100.
100k to 300k would be something else, but again, this could be genuine.
Maybe someone mentioned your site, who knows. The only weird thing is this "unknown" traffic being direct. If it was referral or social, that would be common scenario.
@ms Thank You so much for your kindness and support.
