Update old articles or create new ones?
Hi, I'm new and I needed help .. I have a website created in 2017 that generates about 400views per day, but the views only come from 5/6 articles of 190 articles that exist, I have noticed that many of these articles are ugly and not SEO oriented (I wrote them when I was 15 xD). So I had the happy idea of taking and wanting to rewrite all the "ugly" articles, but I don't know what is best for my SEO; Is it better to update existing articles, created in 2017, or is it better to delete these articles and completely create new ones?
It is possible that there are already backlinks leading to the already written articles. Moreover, they are already indexed so in our opinion it is better if you update your articles.
You need to choose high volume keywords on your all articles so that they generate traffic to your site, and by high traffic google algo will rank your all blogs on first page, but it take time nothing happen in one day SEO is long term strategy
Rewrite your articles and link to other relevant articles. If dwell time improves, your rankings will too.
You don't need blog pages that don't get traffic into your website. However...they might have lots of high quality links going into them, which helps the SEO performance of your website. It's always a good idea to update articles. It keeps them feeling fresh and up-to-date with the latest news, advice and stats. No-one wants to read out of date news.
If your blog is new then it is mandatory to add new fresh content regularly. On the other hand if your blog has already gained popularity it is essential to keep your content up to date , so in this case its better if you update your old articles so that users keep themselves updated with latest information.
As per my knowledge and point of view, you should not delete any existing blog, as it could be playing a role in the SEO of your site. Updating the content regularly is always a good idea , so you may go update the content and don't delete any.
