Optimizing Title for Dual Keyword Ranking: Need Advice on Recent Ranking Shift

by @sherineto (234), 4 months ago

My main keyword was initially ranked in the 4th position and My Secondary Keyword Was Ranked in the 8th Position. Upon recognizing the high search volume for my secondary keyword, I decided to adjust my title by incorporating the secondary keyword. After crawling the new meta two days later, I observed that my main keyword had dropped to the 41st position and the second keyword in the Same Position [8th Position] After Meta's Update.

For Example, the title was:

"What is [Main keyword] with their Benefits" It's Just an Example Not Be Orignal

I made a modification by moving the main keyword to the end, just before "Benefits," because the Main Keyword Benefits also search Volume keywords.

So What Should I Know Just Update the Old Title.? Basically I want to rank for both the main keyword and the secondary keyword.

To optimize your title for dual keyword rankings, you need to create title tags that effectively target and rank for two or more related keywords. If you've recently experienced a change in your rankings, consider the following advice.

Keyword research: Rethink your keyword strategy. Make sure the keywords you choose are still relevant and have search volume. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, and Ahrefs to identify keywords that match your content and audience intent.

Title tag optimization: Create a title that seamlessly integrates both keywords while remaining concise and compelling. Place your primary keyword near the beginning of the title to increase visibility and relevance.

Content Relevance: Make sure the content of your page is a good fit with the two keywords in your title. Search engines look for connections between title, content, and user intent. If necessary, update or improve your content to match the keywords in your title.

Avoid keyword stuffing: While it's important to include your target keywords, avoid cluttering your title with too many keywords. Maintain a natural flow and readability for both search engines and users.

It's tactical. You should update it without disturbing the previous keywords. Even with the old title you can work on other things to improve the 8th position. This is very much possible and recommended.

It seems that the adjustments made to your title had an unexpected impact on the ranking of your main keyword. Here are a few things to consider:

Keyword Placement: Moving the main keyword to the end of the title might have altered the perceived importance of the main keyword to search engines. Titles are crucial for SEO, and the position of keywords within them can influence ranking.

Give it Time: SEO changes may take some time to reflect in rankings. Allow search engines to crawl and index your updated content before expecting significant shifts.

Thank you for the tips! I will refine my title with dual keywords and ensure that the content aligns for better rankings.

I also think that the main keyword is not at the beginning of the title. Could that be the reason for the drop? What if I create a title where both the main and secondary keywords are in the beginning?

Analyze on-page SEO of the top-10 ranked pages for the keyword. This competitor analysis will suggest you some gap. Fill the gap and be at the top.

Optimizing titles for multiple keyword rankings can have a huge impact on your search engine ranking and visibility. If you've noticed a change in ownership, consider some of these ideas:

Assess recent changes: Evaluate the latest changes to your website, content, or SEO strategy about your ranking. Content changes, backlinks, or technical SEO issues can affect keyword rankings. Title tag optimization: Make sure your title tag is optimized for these two keywords. Create an engaging title that accurately describes the content and your keywords in it. Consider using variations or synonyms of your keywords if they fit into the context. Relevance and quality of content: Check your content to make sure it matches both keywords. Relevant, high-quality content that meets users' needs will have a positive impact on rankings.
