My website isnt showing on google search result

by @g.skrefsrud (130), 3 years ago

I am new to SEO and have attempted to do it to my own website but I'm not able to make it show on Google search results. I have used google search console and crawled it, there seems to be nothing more it wants me to do. My website is fast and I have followed an SEO checklist to make it rank 84/100. I don't understand what I've missed. Its hosted through HostGator of that matters.

Check in your console whether your sitemap is submitted in google or not Also check whether your website is unblocked or not.

No idea how long it's been for you, but generally speaking, rule of thumb is within days, not weeks. Talking about appearance, not ranking.

You should be IN the index within hours, but there is no obligation for Google, so it may take some time. But today, they have processes so fast a smooth, that if I won't see at least some of my pages within 2-3 days, I'll be surprised...

Specially if you manually submitted.

Check your site, robots.txt, robots meta tag eventually, and also, if the site is accessible from outside your network. This is weird.

Most websites have something called a robots.txt file. This instructs search engines where they can and can’t go on your website.Google can’t crawl URLs blocked in your robots.txt file, which usually results in them not showing up in search results. If you’ve submitted your sitemap via Google Search Console, it should alert you about issues related to this. Go to the “Coverage” report and look for “Submitted URL blocked by robots.txt” errors.

Make sure to index and crawl it. It will automatically visible in search engine. Sometime this process will take time. Also you need to update all the technical factors related to SEO on your website.

How long has it been? Wouldn't worry if it's only been a couple of weeks.
