Indexing discrepancies in site: and GSC

by @willybill (121), 9 months ago

I have roughly 40 new pages where GSC indicates the pages have been successfully indexed, but they don't show up in the site: report and they also are not being ranked. Some of these pages have shown up as successfully indexed in GSC since 6/21 but are still not showing up in site: or in the rankings.

I used indexmenow for the new pages. This is the first time I've used this service.

As a comparison, my wife manually submitted 10 pages recently through GSC, and all of them were indexed and ranked within 48 hours.

It feels like a penalty, but I don't know this for certain.

Anyone have any similar experience? Are there things I can do? Or anything I can check to get a better understanding of what is happening?

Thanks in advance!

Is your site map up to date?

Yes. It updates automatically when new pages are added, and I've added it to GSC. Thanks!

I guess your website is a new website. Typically, new websites are indexed and then may lose their index for a while. I’m not sure if this is an error or intentional from Google. You should regularly check and resubmit it in the Google Search Console. Additionally, sharing your articles on social media platforms can also help improve the indexing of your website.
