Both are important. And one can't be successful without the other.

A SEO optimized site with technical problems will rank lower. A perfect fast loading site without backlinks will have the same issue.

A Ferrari looks like a fast car, however with a sewing machine engine inside it'll run slow.

To be honest with you, both on page and off page compliment each other. Off page pushes website in SERP with the help of on page elements including meta data, content etc.

Both off-page SEO and on-page SEO play crucial roles in optimizing a website's visibility and ranking on search engines. While both are important, their effectiveness depends on various factors and objectives.

On-page SEO focuses on optimizing the content and structure of a website's individual pages. It involves keyword research, meta tags, headings, content quality, internal linking, and site speed. On-page SEO is vital for creating a user-friendly experience, improving crawlability, and signaling relevance to search engines. It lays the foundation for a well-optimized website.

On the other hand, off-page SEO refers to activities performed outside the website to improve its online reputation and authority. This includes link building, social media promotion, guest blogging, and influencer outreach. Off-page SEO is crucial for building backlinks, increasing domain authority, and establishing credibility, which are factors search engines consider when ranking websites.

Both off-page SEO and on-page SEO are crucial components of a well-rounded search engine optimization strategy, and their effectiveness cannot be measured in isolation. On-page SEO focuses on optimizing website elements like content, keywords, meta tags, and internal linking, directly impacting search engine rankings. Off-page SEO, on the other hand, emphasizes building a strong online reputation through backlinks, social media mentions, and online reviews. While on-page SEO lays the foundation for search engine visibility, off-page SEO complements it by increasing domain authority and establishing credibility. To achieve optimal results, a balanced approach that combines both on-page and off-page SEO techniques is necessary.
