Sudden Drop to 0 Impressions and Clicks in Google – Looking for Insight
One of our websites suddenly dropped to zero impressions and clicks on Google around April 3rd. There are no manual actions or security issues in Search Console. We publish content regularly, and user engagement has always been strong at least time on site.
It's a very niche site, but until now we were getting steady traffic from Google (we started 12 months ago, and domain it's almost 2 years - 250-500 impressions per day and 4-12 clicks per day). Bing traffic is still coming in normally, and we haven’t made any major changes recently that could explain the drop.
I’ve gone through a lot of Reddit threads and SEO forums but haven’t found anything that fits our case. We’re continuing to improve the site—good performance scores, updating content, working on backlinks, and so on.
If anyone has experienced something similar or has any thoughts on what might be happening, I’d appreciate your input. Happy to share more details if needed. Thanks in advance 🙏
Have not experienced this, but since you're in a very niche SERPs, you likely won't find that many people looking for the same answer.
Anyway. There was a core algorith update back in March. Not sure the exact date of rollout, but the impact could be delayed even weeks so it could fit the timeline. Google tried to reduce low-quality/duplicate content specially targeted against AI generated content of zero value.

Hi, there are not many people, usually 300-500 impressions per day and between 5 and 10 clicks. But the competition is still maintaining their rankings, and they don't even have a blog. It's a marketing agency for workers in the adult industry, so the niche is a bit complicated, but for 1 year there have been no problems with Google.
The algorithm update was from the 13th to the 25th of March, I don't know if it can be extended or how it works 😔
Yes, some of my posts can be of low quality, and also some have too similar topics, in some I've also used AI. What should I do? Delete bad content and such? or?

Creating more content Updating content Creating backlinks mostly spreading my site over google, forum backlinks or profile etc.

Well, if the topic is somewhat relevant within the niche, I'd try to improve it. Rewrite it, add more value to it, remove fluff. You can combine multiple overlapping content pages into a single, stronger one. If it's there to just have something in there with zero potential, remove it.
I'd request reindexing in Search Console once you're done.
