Sudden drop in impressions and clicks after website redesign despite no content changes (S
changes to the product categories, template, menus, and overall layout, but no changes were made to the content.
Prior to the redesign, the site had consistent impressions and clicks, but after the update, both impressions and clicks dropped significantly, as shown in the screenshot I’ve attached. Some of my rankings even disappeared.
Here are some of the key points I’ve checked:
Technical issues: I thoroughly checked the website for any technical SEO issues (e.g., broken links, robots.txt, sitemaps) and found nothing wrong. Search Console: I reviewed Google Search Console for errors and didn’t find any significant issues or performance problems. Site performance: The website has good loading times and performs well in terms of speed and user experience. Despite these checks, I can't figure out why the rankings, impressions, and clicks dropped so drastically after the redesign. Any ideas or suggestions on what might have caused this issue and how to resolve it?
Changes in category etc. might have changed URLs on the website. Check the image names too and if needed then correct the file names, alt attribute etc. Try to restore the URLs and if possible the overall on-page SEO. This will not only restore the traffic but also improve it.
