Should I use WordPress Multisite Network because of SEO?

by @vsalgadinho (125), 2 years ago

Hi guys!

I read somewhere that too many plugins can sometimes affect the performance of a website, due to plugin conflicts, the way they were coded, etc. I am not an SEO expert, so I am not sure about the veracity of this argument, but I would like to know your opinion about this.

In case there is some truth in this argument, I thought about creating a multisite network in WordPress using a subdomain configuration - as I read that these are treated by search engines as different sites, so, the performance of one site will not affect the others.

So, basically, my idea would be to create 3 sites within one WP network (my root site, the e-commerce site, and the LMS site). However, only my root site would be used as a storefront to generate traffic. This would allow me to focus only on the SEO of my main site.

What are your thoughts?

Hi @lucasbenjamin,

I have done also some research on this but I am still unsure about the benefits of using a multisite network, especially when it comes to SEO. Let's hope someone can help us with this and in case you find some useful information about this subject, share it here. I will do the same.

If the plugins are well optimized, there's nothing to worry about. Once, I saw a plug that allows you to disable the loading of plugins on individual subpages, but I don't remember its name.

Hey man, thanks for posting this! I've had the same doubts for the last couple of weeks, and I really need some good advice. The fact that I'm quite new to the WordPress world doesn't help, either. However, I must admit that WordPress is an incredibly useful thing. Being an accountant, I have no idea how I lived without it for so many years! By the way, if you're also an accountant in need of help, check out the https://prosvit.design/websites-for-accountants/ link. It helped me a lot! Cheers.

If your WordPress website is working well with proper page load time then there is no issue with SEO. There shouldn't be any confusion in this regard.
