Should I include customer testimonials to product page?

by @dnchcw (315), 6 months ago

Hi,

In our software product page, we put the following contents:

  1. Production introduction
  2. Comparison with other competitors.
  3. Customer testimonials
  4. Screenshots
  5. Features
  6. How to use guide
  7. Case studies
  8. FAQs
  9. Related products.

The total word count becomes 6301. Most of the contents(about 4000 words) come from the testimonials as there are many customer testimonials.

I use a slideshow to show the testimonials.

Now my question is. Will so many testimonials damage the page SEO? Should I remove them or reduce them?

It is not so. As much relevant content is on the page that much it can benefit the page. Just need to mind the user experience. As you have explained, it looks good in terms of UX too.

Yes, including customer testimonials on your product page is highly beneficial. Testimonials add credibility and build trust by showcasing real experiences of satisfied customers. Potential buyers are more likely to trust peer recommendations, and positive testimonials can influence their purchasing decisions. Ensure testimonials are genuine, specific, and highlight key benefits of your product. They serve as valuable social proof, validating your product's quality and encouraging visitors to make informed choices, ultimately boosting conversion rates and customer confidence in your brand.

Adding customer testimonials to your software product page is a good move to build trust. But having too many of them might not be great for SEO.

Here's why:

Page Speed: Lots of testimonials in a slideshow can make your page slower to load. Search engines like Google prefer faster pages, so this could affect how well your page ranks.

Keywords: Testimonials might not always have the keywords that help your page show up in searches. You need a balance between testimonials and words that help people find your page.

Too Much Info: Too many testimonials might distract visitors from understanding your software's main features and benefits. It might make things confusing.

Duplicate Content: If the same testimonials show up on multiple pages, it can hurt your SEO. Search engines don't like duplicate content.

So, here are some ideas:

Trim Down Testimonials: Pick a few really good testimonials that show different positive experiences. Highlight those instead of having a lot.

Text Instead of Slideshow: Instead of a slideshow, put some key testimonials as text on the page. It's easier for people to read and better for SEO.

Pick the Best: Choose testimonials that mention words related to your software. This helps with SEO and keeps things real.

Keep an Eye on Results: See how these changes affect your page. Check if people stay longer, leave less, and if more people end up buying your software.

Finding a balance between having enough testimonials to build trust and not overwhelming your page with them is key. It's about making sure they help your page and don't hurt its performance in search engines.
