Is Directory submission still beneficial?

by @genasanford (101), 3 years ago

I have started the off-page activities for my website, but there's a constant question in my mind, that should i still do directory submission or not? Some sites say it is beneficial and others say it is not. What to do?

This depends on your competition. If you have around the same weight as your competition then directory submission will give you that little advantage. But it will not help you to give that long jump in the rankings. Google gives more importance to links that are tough to get.

In general, no one can give you relevant answer to such a general question. Obviously, each directory is different in terms of ranks, quality, relevance to your niche/website, etc.

It means, you can benefit from listings published on some, while others may be complete waste of time.

Just my 2 cents.

Yes, directory submission is still beneficial. The only difference is that it takes a lot more time for approval. I am also still doing directory submissions for my website.
