if crawler is not getting anything (cache version 404).is it possible to rank in top?

Hi the website is (makemytrip.com/hotels/) and the cache version is 404, which means nothing appears in caching, crawling, and indexing.

enter image description here How it is possible that the url is ranked on thousands of keywords? 404 means nothing found then how Google (crawler) getting this helpful to show in serp (1st position) As per Google Algorithms the domain should be penalised. But getting benefits doing wrong things.. If Google is doing partiality to other travel competitors by displaying this on top. And they (Makemytrip) are using this technique for the last 2 years . and cache version is always 404 as per my understanding this is a deceptive technique. Can you help me to understand why Google is doing this?

@binayjha, you are right can see the content in the text-only version but the full version is 404. My concern is that, if it is right to do such an implementation, and how Google is not considering spam.

Hi @johny007, The no-cache header is used usually for embedded content. Misuse of the feature provided can be harmful in regard to SEO.

If a crawler cannot access your website or finds a cache version with a 404 error (page not found), it's unlikely that your website will rank highly in search results. Search engines rely on accessing and understanding website content to determine rankings. Without proper accessibility and content availability, your website may struggle to achieve a top ranking.
