How to submit subdomain's sitemap file in search console?

by @atulsharma (179), 6 months ago

Dear SEO Enthusiast, Listen carefully my issue: I have a domain which is abc.com and also, I created a subdomain for another panel which is xyz.abc.com.

I created a search console account for that by selecting domain property which is good for both domain and sub domain both. Now, I submitted main domains sitemap in the search console successfully which is abc.com/sitemap.xml But I can't submit the subdomain i.e., xyz.abc.com/sitemap.xml in the same domain property. Let me know the solution, how can I submit the subdomain's sitemap file?

Why it doesn't work? What's the error message?

Did you trying submitting under xyz.abc.com property? Seems like you should submit it there if you have created it already.

Put the subdomain website's sitemap on the main domain and then submit. More information is here,

Anywhere, from where you can open that XML file in a browser. Yes, at the search console sitemap section.

I submitted it in the GSC section and then submitted it. It shows me the following error.

Sitemap could not be read > General HTTP error > We encountered an error while trying to access your sitemap. Please ensure that your sitemap is present at the specified address and is not blocked to Google. See our help center for more debugging help.

Check sitemap's path by opening it in browser once.
