Have I been clapped?

During the recent June spam update, my site started picking up a lot, but this was likely due to me finally starting to crawl out of the sandbox combined with good backlinks. However on June 26th I seem to have peaked, and things started drastically going downhill, my rankings started dropped massively. At this point I don't think this can really be natural volatility anymore, and I believe I've been penalized. I haven't received any notification from Google though. I went through the spam update post, and the only thing I really could resonate with is keyword stuffing, where some sentences could read unnatural because I tried to fit in keywords. Could that really cause this drastic decline? I've changed most of the content on the site to fit their new guidelines, but it seems I just keep going down. I've also disavowed some toxic backlinks, and manually removed a few in case those were the bad actors, however I've had most of those for a while.

Quality content with better user experience can be helpful at this point of time. Whichever visitors are coming on the webpages, try to engage them on the pages somehow. So that, they can spend more time on the website and browse more number of pages or likewise.
