Gated content as as a PDF vs Gated Content as a page after submission

Hi all,

quick Q.

Company I work for have a lot of good content that is gated that currently leads to a PDF.

If I put the content from the PDF on a page, but still behind a gate, can I optimise this better than the PDF to be more search-friendly? Or is there no point because it's gated ie it won't have a positive effect?
