Filenames

by @LeMans24h (114), 1 month ago

Hi :) Im new to this thing, so I am learning by doing.

My website contains of course images and html-files. How do I name them correctly?

I have so far learned that _ and spaces are a no-go - so I use - instead to all my files.

But a lot of my images and html-files is an actual name - could be John Smith.html or Ferrari 299.jpg.

Will it still be correct to eliminate the spaces and name the files john-smith.html and ferrari-299.img?

Feel free to take a look at www.lemans24h.com - all comments and critics regarding SEO is more than welcome! It is for now only in danish, english version comming up MUCH later!

For now I am focusing on the danish content - and now - trying to get a rank on google :)

Kind regards Jan

You can use the files with actual name without bothering further.

Hyphen is a good one to replace space character in URLs. I'd use the john-smith.html way.
