Does Google sometimes use an H2 as the title in the SERPs? So if I have an article set up like this: H1 - Best Grills For Each Price Range H2 - Best Grills Under $100 H2 - Best Grills Under $500 H2 - Best Grills Under $1,000 If someone searched, "best grills under $100", would Google re-title my article from Best Grills For Each Price Range and instead use my H2 of Best Grills Under $100?
Google uses headings for a title in the SERPs. In the example mentioned, it will not be re-phrased but the most matching heading can be used as a title in the SERP. Please note, Google may use internal link text too as a title in the SERP.
Sometimes it takes phrases from H2 also as google is now using AI Tool which is directing google to crawl based on user search of that particular site.
Yes, Google occasionally refers to the SERPs( Search Engine Results Pages) with an H2( Heading 2) as the title. There are times when Google may decide to use an H2 heading as the title in the search results, even though it usually extracts a web page's title from the "title> tag" in HTML code.
When the H2 heading's content is found to be more pertinent to the search query than the title> tag, this may occur. In some cases, an H2 heading might better capture the essence of the content on the page because Google strives to give users the most pertinent and practical information.
