Do I need to use noindex and nofollow

by @nicky (237), 1 month ago

Is it neccessary to have the follow / nofollow tag in the page source together with other SEO tags, like no index/index?

Or aksed in an other way: When I mark a page as "no index" - do I addtionally need to have a "nofollow" tag as well in the sourcecode?

No, it is not necessary. Nofollow is the instruction to search engines to not to crawl the links available on the page. If we do not mention anything then search engines follow the links on the page.

No, it's not necessary to use both noindex and nofollow tags together. Noindex instructs search engines not to index the page, while nofollow directs them not to pass link equity. Use them based on your SEO strategy and page purpose.

If you don't want a page to be indexed add noindex

If you don't want a site to receive juice from your site via a link then mark the link as no follow.
