Data inconsistency in Search Console
Dear SEO Community, We recently encountered the following problem with our project:
In Search Console, the average rankings and the impressions do not match. For example, for a keyword that has >10k search volume per month we are average-ranked on position 4, but have only 1-10 impressions.
On closer investigation, we discovered that the position is only achieved on a daily basis and besides that we do not rank at all with this page, i.e. there is no ranking visible:
Even stranger is that the impressions we get cannot be assigned to any country or device, in the respective tabs it looks like this:
Now, the whole thing would not bother us as much if it happened for pages such as contact forms, etc., but we also observe this behaviour with keywords that are very important for us, where some backlinks have already been built.
All SEO measures we have taken have been white hat, we have not been notified of any penalties or anything else and we have never seen this kind of behaviour in any of our projects.

It looks your website just flashed on 4th spot in the SERP and then disappeared. You need to keep working for the keywords to beat the competition.
Yes, we already figured that it must have been a very short time when it appeard on 4th spot. But why? And with only 5 impressions that must have been just a few minutes and then completely disappear back into oblivion.
Why exactly is that?
It might be reflecting that content is good to rank on the fourth spot but other factors applied by competitors in terms of SEO are outclassing the webpage. What do you think?
We have encountered this problem many times. It is worth taking care of the website and fine-tuning it in terms of SEO because it has the potential to increase traffic.
