Could too many "Crawled - currently not Indexed" reduce overall site rankings?

by @nichesitecrafter (114), 1 year ago

Hi,

I have a number of Category and Category Pages (i.e. cat/page/1, cat/page/2 etc...) being "crawled but not Indexed" by Google. I have no issue with Google not indexing achived category pages, however, I do have a lot of these and an wondering if having too many of these oculd be deemed as "thin content" and as such affect the overall ranking of my site?

If it could affected overall rankings, what is the best way to omit this from GSC? I have removed all Categories from my sitemap, is this enough for Google to ignore this in the future?

I'm using Rank Math for SEO, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards, Dave

Remove those category pages from Google's cache using GSC.
