Content Size Dilemma for Keyword with "Map" (not google maps)

by @Cadoudal (128), 2 months ago

Hello, I need some insights!

I'm working on a page called "Provence Map" (it's a French region) and I've hit a bit of a snag.

The goal is to put an embed tourist interactive map on the page to provide an easy overview.

When I Google "Provence Map" - Intent: Informational - KD 37%

(apart from Images, Google Maps and Google My Maps links), I notice that the top dogs pages in the SERP barely have any content (they still have some traffic although there are SERP features)

So, what's the play here?

Keep It Short and Sweet:

Do I mimic the minimalists and go easy on the word count for my page? Is Google vibing with less content for these types of searches? Maybe it's all about nailing those backlinks and showing off my topical authority instead of blabbing more?

Go All Out with Content:

Or, do I go the other way and pack my page with tons of info? Could this be my golden ticket to stand out?

Which strategy is the real MVP for climbing up the ranks in SERPs for something like "Provence map"? Does Google give a thumbs up to less-is-more for these niche searches, or is it all about showering users with as much info as possible?

Thanks!

Please provide a screenshot of the SERP. As, I am not seeing such pages for dogs in the search results.

Hello, I'm unable to upload a screenshot in the comment section. When I search for "Provence Map," the pages that appear after the SERP features have very little on-page content. That's what I'm curious about.

You can analyze competitor's website thoroughly to find out why those are rankling higher. If a webpage has no objectionable entity by which it should be banned in appearing on SERPs then it can rank. There are about two hundred parameters and combinations of them which influence the ranking and not only the on-page SEO.

Negatively thinking, Google's result pages were spammed around earlier January. But, Google had reported, it has been fixed!

I can't find why these results are ranking, especially concerning the on-page content.
